Fall CUE 2013: Late to the Game? Build an Interactive, User-Friendly Online Course

Melanie Borrego, Ph.D.

Presenter: Melanie Borrego, Ph.D., Associate Professor of English and Associate Dean for Undergraduate Education, School of Arts and Sciences, Brandman University

Late to the game? Build a great course in no time with these tools and resources. We’ll introduce a little instructional design, screencasting, videoconferencing, and embedding of videos.

This session should appeal to those who are just beginning their online teaching journey, who are building out a blended course, or who began online teaching recently and now would like to develop their online offerings. What are the current best practices for setting up an online course shell? Are there simple review strategies you can use? Where do you find free, open-source or creative commons resources to use with your students? In one hour, we will cover what you need to get started.
